About this website
This is my first website running on Joomla Content Management System. As an open source project, Joomla is reasonably successful, also due to its usability, but it is not the CMS yet. Probably all of these projects need some information architects to turn a few things around and some good computer programmers who would clean up some of the extensions a bit. With this site I have tried to make it as easy as possible to add new content, without too much fuss and workarounds. In my personal view I think Joomla is just alright for small to medium sized web sites, but for huge corporate websites it is probably good to have a fully customizable CMS.
Joomla! CMS
It will not hurt if you give it a spin...
And now - the extensions I have used... As the Dutch would say: "Effe kijken..."
Accessible JoomlaGets rid of tables in content items. I hope this is going to become an option to choose from in the future versions of Joomla.
JCE (Joomla Content Editor)A more useful version of the default Joomla text editor.
iJoomla Metatag GeneratorComes in handy because of a good overview of different metatags you assign to particular pages.
RSGallery2With some adjustments in the html, it outputs a decent gallery. There are some bugs, though, so next time I will try something else.
Extended MenuAfter you get the hang of this one, you can create menus in almost every imaginable combination of content items.
My ContentOutputs a simple list of all content items in the frontend.
Content Item ModulePractical thingy, with which you can display content items elsewhere than in the middle of the website.
DS-Syndicate
A decent feed aggregator, which lets you define the content with categories, rather than publishing an item to the frontpage.
Thanks also too:
cssplay.co.ukA lot of CSS templates. Comes in handy at least to check out how CSS is functioning.
communitymx.com/blog/index.cfm?newsid=297An IE bug fix.
